Rev. James Sapp, Senior Minister
Reverend James Sapp was born and raised in Jesup, Ga. where his family owned the local bakery. After graduating high school, James attended the Georgia Institute of Technology where he majored in Industrial Systems Engineering. He was hired after graduation by Reynolds Metals in Louisville, Ky. After a few years there James was hired by Frito Lay and worked in Dallas, Texas. He worked for them for 3 years before he decided to go back to school. James attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and worked for First Baptist of Grand Prairie as a Young Adult Minister, while finishing his masters. After graduating, James pastored at Granbury Baptist for 6 years. James then moved back to Georgia where he has spent the last 23 years serving in the South Georgia Conference. James has served at Langston UMC, Sparks UMC, Blackshear UMC, Avalon UMC, Dawson UMC, Bemiss UMC, Camilla UMC, and Wilmington Island UMC.
