Book Study: If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat – Fellowship Building #2 – The first of a New Year is a time when many of us take an honest look at our lives, and we don’t always like what we see. Do you ever wonder why you haven’t yet become the person you think God wants you to be? Do you look at the fearless faith of others and wonder how to develop that in yourself? Have you wondered if God might call you to do something remarkable, if only you could get to a point where your faith is stronger than your fear? When I think of those first steps that Simon Peter took on the water I see what may be the greatest example ever of claiming faith over fear. Even though fear recaptured Peter just a few seconds later, he nonetheless accomplished what many of us never do. He took that first step based solely on complete faith in the Savior.
Join Leigh Ann for a discussion of John Ortberg’s best-selling book, If You Want To Walk On Water, You’ve Got To Get Out of The Boat.

John 14:1-3 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”
Jesus has revealed, in no uncertain terms, to those of us who are his followers that heaven is real and is our eternal home. Join us as we explore the mysteries of heaven as presented in his book and DVD series Revealing the Mysteries of Heaven by Dr. David Jeremiah.
This will be a twelve week study, Part I will begin January 23rd and Part II will be presented in the second semester of TFUMC’s Family University. A course outline with a summary of each session will be available for participants, some participants may chose to purchase the book or student book that is available for this series, both books will be available for preview at the introductory session.
With scriptural references, Dr. Jeremiah explores such topics as: What is heaven all about?; Where are those who have died now?; Your heavenly body; The new heaven and the new earth; The millennium; What about children?; and other topics to encourage understanding of our eternal home.
